.NET profiling accuracy improved with dotTrace 3.0
dotTrace Profiler 3.0 offers an expanded arsenal of memory and performance profiling tools.
Sampling profiling mode provides much faster, minimum-overhead profiling (at the expense of accuracy), while routine thread profiling achieves greater precision of measurement than ever before.
Finalized objects now help developers spot memory leaks by detecting objects that were finalized without being properly disposed of in code.
Other improvements in dotTrace 3.0 include:
Saving individual parts of snapshots (tab saving).
Filtering & folding function call chains in Hot Spots and Back Traces views and filtering function calls in Plain View.
Merging strongly-connected objects.
Navigation to classes’ source in source preview.
