WinFX January CTP Released including Go-Live Licenses
Microsoft has released the January CTP of WinFX which includes a Go-Live license for WCF and WinWF. This release has no changes for WPF and a Go-Live license is not included for that technology. Download includes WinFX Runtime Components, WinFX SDK, Visual Studio Extensions for Workflow, and Visual Studio "Orcas" CTP Development tools for WinFX.
According to Arik Cohen, a release manager for WPF, there is no Go-Live license for WPF because Microsoft was unable to adequately test the various installation scenarios for the client side technology as opposed to the primarily server based technologies of WCF and WinWF.
As with all of the WinFX CTPs, installation of this version requires a complete uninstall of prior versions including in some cases Monad and the Compact Framework.
Here is the list of downloads available: WinFX Runtime Components January CTP Windows SDK for January WinFX CTP Visual Studio "Orcas" CTP - Development Tools for WinFX Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for WinWF Beta 2 Go-Live Licenses for WCF and WinWF
