Developers Can Help Decision Makers With BI and Scorecards
Microsoft has provided three white papers which assist developers in taking advantage of the upcoming Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005.
The new server-based business scorecarding application will be available on November 1, 2005. It takes advantage of the Microsoft Office System and the SQL Server platform to help organizations provide scorecards to employees so they can track key performance indicators (KPIs) against goals.

Developers Can Help Decision Makers With BI and Scorecards
OK, I give up:
"Business Scorecard Manager is a comprehensive scorecard and dashboard application that provides knowledge workers with deep contextual insight into business drivers. Information is delivered in a collaborative environment for effective business management and action in the performance-driven organization."
Can anyone tell me what BSM does, and give some reasons why I, as a developer, would need to use/support/"leverage" it? I have never come across such an application <shrug>.

I think it's a framework for creating kind of a scorecard like application for Office on the client side as well as reporting services on the server side.

For top management
It's a tool to show on your intranet portal the key indicators of your business. It's based mainly on OLAP so if you don't have one you shouldn't consider using them.
If I am a manager I would like to see (like in NASDAQ) the indicators of the business each morning I switch on my computer.
We've implemented to a customer such a solution and it's pretty usefull.
