MSFT P&P Delivers ASP.NET 2.0 Security Wiki Test Drive

Posted by: Andy Eunson on June 06, 2005 DIGG
Microsoft's Patterns & Practices team has released a new wiki for ASP.NET 2.0 Security. The wiki contains pre-release security guidance in the form of "Design Guidelines", "How Tos", "Reviews (arch, code and deployment)" and "Checklists". Those familiar with PNP's earlier security and perf/scale guides will recognize the 'consumable' and 'actionable' format this team is famous for.

The wiki provides early access so developers can get a jump start on Whidbey and provides an excellent opportunity to learn "by doing" or give feedback.

Take a test drive of the wiki and check out the content to date. Much more is to come. http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/Channel9.TestDriveSecurityWiki

The "how to's" provide quick guidance for completing specific tasks and provide a simple way for developers to get a jump start on Whidbey development. Here's a list of the "How to's" that are available to date. http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/Channel9.ASPNETSecurityHowTos

The checklists are an awesome team tool that can be used for personal and team productivity. http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/Channel9.SecurityChecklists

Be sure to check out the ASP.NET Security Guidance Hub. It provides access to a host of good resources.

The reviews (Arch, Code and Deployment) are great tools to integrate into your lifecycle to ensure 'goodness' throughout the life of your application. (see the hub above)
