Microsoft Releases FlexWiki on SourceForge.NET under CPL

Posted by: Paul Ballard on September 28, 2004 DIGG
Microsoft has released FlexWiki, a web based collaborative writing environment built in ASP.NET on SourceForge.NET. This is the same software currently used for Channel 9. This software is the third such product released under Microsoft's Common Public License.

FlexWiki is an ASP.NET implementation of a WikiWikiWeb (Hawaiian for Very Quick Web) that allows you to quickly deploy information to an intranet or internet site. Features of FlexWiki include:

  • Easy textual editing for publishing using simple editing rules
  • Email notifications of changes to the Wiki
  • RSS Feeds
  • Topic History allowing you to review all historical versions of a page
  • Topic Searches
  • Back links allow clicking on a topic header at the top of the page to perform a search for that topic
You can read more about FlexWiki and see it in action at here. To download the source code, go to SourceForge.NET.

Posted by: Daniel Cazzulino on October 22, 2004 in response to Message #140059
The CPL (Common Public License) is not owned my MS. It's an approved OpenSource license (http://opensource.org/licenses/cpl.php) which Microsoft seems to favor. That's it.
