Tech Talk: Jack Greenfield on software factories and DSLs
Microsoft is hard at work adding modeling to its flagship tool set. Microsoft Visual Studio Architect Jack Greenfield is at the center of this push. In this tech talk, he discusses the company's approach to Domain-Specific Languages, or DSLs, and the part they play in software factories. Topics Greenfield discusses include:
- What Microsoft is doing in the DSL and software factory space
- The value add to available designer tools
- Software factories versus Model Driven Architecture (MDA)
- The value to using high-level modeling, such as UML
