Posted by: Paul Ballard on July 29, 2005 DIGG
There's certainly been a lot of name changing going on this week and so we began to speculate on what other names for the next version of Windows (formerly Longhorn, now Vista) that Microsoft may have considered before deciding on Vista. Here's our list of the 10 most rejected new names.

View the Top 10 Names NOT Chosen for Windows Vista

After you've had a chance to see what we came up with, let us know what YOU think it should be called!

If I can have two wishes granted:

1. Fire the guys who signed off on the WPF and WCF
2. Use the Windows Transformation Foundation (WTF) and make it Indigo again

Hello Microsoft ... somebody home?

ha..ha..a.

Windows Vista, is not catchy.

After all long hours put after Indigo, Vista seem to
wipe it off. If we think of an iceberg, all the work
done below sea surface , is indigo, and now its becoming
visible, its still an iceberg up there.

So lets just call it Windows Indigo -- (doesnot sound
catchy)

Or Windows XI (X from XP) and (I from Indigo), suggesting
X - Windows simple UI is still simple, we continue to like what we had built, and I for Indigo for newly improved (also falls under that Its tip of Iceberg, and under its "ndigo".

Howz that???
