Speaking at EclipseCon 2006, Java developer and independent consultant Madhu Siddalingaiah compared Microsoft's Visual Studio IDE to the open source development environment of Eclipse.

Microsoft has added a last minute change to the implementation of Nullable types in .NET 2.0. This change allows for simpler null checks when using boxed references and generics. This new feature also provides the ability to coerce a nullable type to an interface implemented by the enclosed type.
Paul Glavich has written an article that shows how ASP.NET based asynchronous client script callbacks work without the need for an AJAX moniker or add-on libraries. The article includes source code for creating client callback scripts with ASP.NET 2.0.
At TechEd 2005, the Microsoft Certified Architect Program moved into pilot, with additional information made available including a potential acceptance fee of as much as $10,000 and the fact that only three of seven applicants were accepted by the infrastructure board.
Iqbal M. Khan describes a pattern in which persistence logic is abstracted away from Domain Objects, including C# source code for an implementation of the pattern.
Microsoft has released WinFx Beta 1 containing updates for the Avalon and Indigo technologies. They have also released the official product names for the technologies formerly known as Avalon and Indigo. Avalon has been named Windows Presentation Foundation and Indigo is Windows Communication Foundation.
